3 Things I Love About Canada
She’s not perfect, but Canada has been my home since I was a kid. I’ve met so many wonderful, caring people that I will never forget. Yes, there’s been experiences and moments that no Canadian would be proud of, but I think we have something special here. For this Canada Day, I want to share some of the things that make me both proud and grateful to live here.
Canadians are some of the most genuine, welcoming, and kind people in the world. Whether you’re a visitor, refugee, or born and raised citizen, you’ve probably encountered the warmth and love of complete strangers at times. I know I have.
Whether it’s donating money, volunteering, or helping a stranger, Canadians are some of the most generous people in the world. I would love to see us lead the way through generosity, but knowing that we are in the top 20 of generous countries is certainly something to celebrate!
It is no doubt that we are some of the richest people in the world. There are definitely some areas we would all love to see improved and changed, but I am so thankful for our healthcare, education, and freedom. I feel safe here.
There are a ton of stories that I hope to be sharing in the future, but for now, I just wanted to take the time to celebrate this awesome country that I love. At the same time, I want to make sure that we continue to challenge each other and grow. No matter where you go, you’re going to encounter the sin and ugly side of humanity. We are all in need of our Savior. As Christians living in Canada, I hope we can lead the way to a better future for all of us.
